§ 1 — Meaning of the string Q118·Q120

§ 2 — Mission and purpose Q133
The .nissin top-level domain is intended to benefit Internet users by enabling NISSIN FOODS HOLDINGS CO., LTD. (hereinafter "The Company") to communicate more easily and securely with Internet users, and particularly with its consumers, customers, employees and affiliates. The TLD will serve as a dedicated branding, technology and services platform for The Company's mission and its stakeholders.
Mission and purpose. NISSIN FOODS HOLDINGS CO., LTD. is a corporation headquartered at 4-1-1 Nishinakajima, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka-shi, Japan. It is a holding company whose registered purpose is to engage in the businesses set out below and to control and manage, through the ownership of shares or equity interests, companies and other business entities engaged in them, together with management consulting for group companies and services relating to the acquisition, maintenance, licensing and assignment of intellectual property rights. Those businesses include the manufacture, processing and sale of groceries, beverages, seasonings and food products; the production and sale of agricultural, livestock, forestry and fishery products; food packaging and containers; research and evaluation of safety and quality in the food industry; the manufacture and sale of chemicals, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, food additives, animal feed and fertilizer; transportation, freight forwarding and warehousing; real property and leisure facilities; advertising; securities and financial business; publishing; software development; food information services; and worker dispatching and food refrigeration. "nissin" is the Company's own corporate name and corporate brand. The purpose of the .nissin TLD is to provide a trusted, exclusively controlled namespace — operated by or on behalf of The Company — for the exchange of information among The Company and its stakeholders via websites, applications, email and other online services within the .nissin space. Consolidating the group's online presence under a single authoritative TLD gives users a reliable signal of authenticity and reduces the risk of phishing, spoofing and brand abuse. That assurance matters particularly for a food manufacturing group, whose consumers rely on its online channels for product, ingredient and safety information.
Intended registrants and users. .nissin is a single-registrant ".brand" TLD operated under ICANN Registry Agreement Specification 13. The Company will be the sole registrant: it initially intends to reserve all names within the TLD for itself and to register and use second-level domains for its own purposes and those of its group companies. Any third-party use would occur only under contract with The Company and under its control.
Activities to achieve this purpose. The Company will use .nissin domains for its corporate, brand and product websites, consumer- and customer-facing services, secure communications and email, and may provide related services such as hosting, content delivery and marketing under the TLD. The .nissin TLD extends and protects the group's established Internet presence under a namespace it fully controls.
Sustainability over time. The Company was incorporated on September 4, 1948 and has operated continuously since, and it holds and manages the group's food manufacturing and related businesses. The .nissin TLD is intended as long-term infrastructure for that business, not as a speculative or transitional namespace, and The Company intends to operate it for the full term of the Registry Agreement and to renew it thereafter.
Competition, differentiation and innovation. .nissin does not compete with existing generic TLDs for registrations, because it is not open to third-party registration. It differentiates the group's authentic online presence from look-alike domains in open TLDs, and lets The Company design a namespace whose structure reflects its own products, brands and organisation rather than the constraints of a shared registry.

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
