§ 1 — Meaning of the string Q118·Q120

Therapy is the treatment or support of physical, mental, emotional, or behavioral conditions and, more broadly, a process intended to promote healing, recovery, well-being, personal growth, or improved quality of life.

§ 2 — Mission and purpose Q133

The mission of .THERAPY is to create a trusted and distinctive digital home for the professionals, organizations, services, resources, and communities associated with therapy, healing, recovery, and well-being. From mental health counseling and psychotherapy to physical, occupational, speech, behavioral, and other therapeutic disciplines, "therapy" represents a broad and widely understood concept centered on helping people address challenges, improve functioning, and enhance their quality of life.

Intended registrants include therapists and counselors, psychologists and mental health professionals, physical and occupational therapists, speech and language professionals, behavioral health providers, clinics and treatment centers, healthcare organizations, teletherapy and digital health platforms, rehabilitation providers, professional associations, educational institutions, researchers, wellness organizations, support communities, technology companies serving therapeutic markets, and other individuals and organizations with a meaningful connection to therapy and therapeutic services. Intended users include individuals and families seeking therapeutic services, patients and caregivers, healthcare professionals, students and researchers, employers, educators, referring professionals, and audiences seeking credible information, resources, tools, communities, or support related to therapy and well-being.

Natural and legitimate uses include mental health and psychotherapy; counseling services; physical and occupational therapy; speech and language therapy; behavioral therapy; rehabilitation and recovery; teletherapy and digital health; therapeutic tools and technologies; professional education and training; research and academic programs; therapist directories and referral services; support resources and communities; wellness and preventive care; professional associations; clinics and practices; and other relevant services, resources, products, content, and experiences.

Whether someone is looking for a therapist, building a practice, sharing resources, developing new approaches to care, or simply trying to make life a little better, .THERAPY provides an intuitive and memorable digital identity for the people, organizations, and ideas dedicated to helping us feel, function, heal, and grow.

The purpose is sustainable because therapy addresses something that isn't going away anytime soon - being human. Methods will evolve, technology will change how and where care is delivered, and conversations around mental and physical well-being will continue to become more open, accessible, and personal. But people will always need places to talk, heal, recover, learn, and occasionally figure out why they keep doing that thing they said they weren't going to do again. From the therapist's office to the screen in your pocket, .THERAPY creates a natural digital home for whatever helps us work through it.

Because sometimes the internet could use a little therapy too.
