§ 1 — Meaning of the string Q118·Q120
Slides are visuals arranged in sequence, as in a presentation deck or slideshow; a slide is also a chute to slide down.
/slaɪdz/
§ 2 — Mission and purpose Q133
The proposed .slides top-level domain represents slide-based content in its familiar forms - presentation decks, photo slideshows, lecture materials, and other visuals arranged in sequence - along with the word's ordinary product senses, from playground equipment to footwear.
Intercap Registry proposes to operate .slides as an open namespace, available for registration by the general public without restriction.
Intended registrants include individuals, creators, businesses, and organizations of all kinds that publish, share, or host slide-based material, or that make and sell products known by the name. Intended users are members of the general public viewing that material or seeking those products.
Intercap Registry will make .slides names available worldwide through ICANN-accredited registrars, promote awareness and adoption of the namespace, publish its registration policies ahead of launch, operate the TLD openly, respond promptly to reports of abuse, and comply with applicable safeguards.
Demand for this category is sustainable: presenting information in sequenced visual form is a standing practice for websites, businesses, and organizations across every sector, and is not tied to any trend, technology, or single company.

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
