A source identifying endorsement line of a globally recognized technology company.

§ 2 — Mission and purpose Q133

The mission and purpose of this gTLD is to: (1) provide a trusted, hierarchical, and intuitive namespace for people who use Meta’s family of apps, and its products and services; (2) protect Meta’s online presence, identity, brands, registered trademarks, and related intellectual property rights; and (3) support Meta’s branding objectives, including identifying and promoting Meta’s own products and services, and providing a dedicated and reliable source for identifying content, goods, and services offered by Meta and its affiliates.

Meta Platforms, Inc., the Qualified Parent Entity of Meta Registry Holdings LLC, commits to develop and operate a carefully curated portfolio of TLDs, to strengthen online trust and the security of its users and infrastructure, while modernizing its domain name strategy, which may no longer scale effectively amid the continued expansion of the domain name system.

§ 3 — Commitments and safeguards Q164–Q188

Meta Platforms, Inc. is the Qualified Parent Entity of Meta Registry Holdings LLC. The dominant portion of the applied-for TLD, META, is a registered trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc., or one of its Affiliates. Meta Registry Holdings LLC will operate this TLD exclusively for the registration of domain names by Meta Platforms, Inc. and Affiliates, with no registrar of record other than a single, wholly-owned or affiliated registrar. This provides Meta Registry Holdings LLC with the opportunity to manage a domain name space dedicated to Meta's product family under one recognisable TLD that identifies Meta Platforms, Inc., and its Affiliates.

Because registrations will not be offered to unaffiliated third-party registrants or distributed through unaffiliated registrars, the equal-access and non-discrimination concerns that the Code of Conduct is designed to address do not arise in this context, and application of the Code of Conduct is accordingly unnecessary to protect the public interest.
