/ˈæn.tɛl/

§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133

The mission and purpose of the .ANTEL gTLD are to provide a secure and dedicated online namespace for Administración Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (ANTEL), supporting ANTEL's digital identity and strengthening the recognition and protection of the ANTEL brand. The intended registrants are ANTEL, its Affiliates, and authorized Trademark Licensees, in accordance with Specification 13 of the Registry Agreement. The intended users include ANTEL's customers, employees, business partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders accessing official ANTEL online resources and services. The .ANTEL gTLD will support ANTEL's official websites, digital platforms, customer-facing services, corporate communications, and other online resources associated with the ANTEL brand. Its implementation will contribute to strengthening user confidence, reducing the risk of fraud and phishing, improving brand recognition, and supporting ANTEL's digital transformation strategy. ANTEL will progressively implement the .ANTEL namespace across its official online presence and digital services, in accordance with its digital strategy and operational requirements. The .ANTEL namespace will be used to support existing and future online initiatives while ensuring that official ANTEL services and communications are clearly identifiable and associated with the ANTEL brand. The mission and purpose of the .ANTEL gTLD are sustainable over time because they are directly linked to ANTEL's long-term institutional mission, established brand identity, and its continued provision of telecommunications services in Uruguay. As ANTEL continues to expand and modernize its digital services, the .ANTEL namespace will remain an integral component of its digital strategy, providing a secure and trusted environment for its online presence and future digital services and initiatives.

The .ANTEL gTLD will be operated exclusively as a .Brand TLD in accordance with Specification 13 of the Registry Agreement. Domain names will be registered solely for ANTEL, its Affiliates, and authorized Trademark Licensees, and will be used exclusively to support ANTEL's official operations, digital services, corporate communications, internal functions, customer-facing services, and other legitimate business activities associated with the ANTEL brand.

ANTEL does not intend to operate .ANTEL as an open or commercial registry, nor will it register domain names for the primary purpose of selling, reselling, warehousing, or otherwise engaging in speculative domain name activities. Domain names will be assigned only where they serve a legitimate operational, administrative or business purpose consistent with ANTEL's corporate objectives and brand strategy.

Accordingly, the operation of the .ANTEL gTLD will not create any conflict with Section 3(d) of Specification 11. The restricted registration model established by Specification 13, together with ANTEL's intended use of the namespace exclusively for its own benefit and that of its Affiliates and authorized Trademark Licensees, ensures that the .ANTEL gTLD will not be used for speculative registration practices or the commercialization of domain names.
