§ 1 — Sens de la chaîne Q118·Q120
being, relating to, or belonging to a person or to people as opposed to animals
/ˈhjuː.mən/
§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133
The mission and purpose of the applied-for .human gTLD is to provide a namespace for people, for what people make, and for organisations whose work centres on human beings. "Human" is a word of Latin origin recognised across many languages, and it carries an immediate, universal meaning: it refers to all of us, without borders or niche. The string has also gained a distinctly contemporary relevance: as more of what appears online is produced automatically, being human, and being able to say so, has become meaningful in itself, and a .human address offers a simple, legible way for a person or a work to identify as exactly that. Intended registrants include individuals wanting a personal address that identifies them first and foremost as a person, writers, artists, musicians, and creators who want to mark their work as made by a human, human rights, humanitarian, and advocacy organisations, along with shelters, welcome projects, and community groups whose mission is human dignity and welfare, coaches, therapists, and counsellors doing people work under a fitting name, human resources, recruitment, and people-management services, for whom "human" is already the name of the profession, health, wellbeing, mindfulness, and care providers focused on the human body and mind, brands and product makers positioning around human-centred design and human connection, and researchers, educators, and communities in the human sciences. Registrations may be used for personal identity pages and portfolios, creator sites and works signed as human-made, campaign, advocacy, and charity presences, HR platforms and people-services sites, coaching, therapy, and wellbeing services, brand and product sites built on a human-centred message, and research and community presences. The purpose is sustainable because the string's foundations do not expire: individuals are an unlimited and permanently renewing registrant base, the professions and organisations named after the word, from human resources to humanitarian work, are large and enduring sectors, and the value of identifying people and work as human is set to persist and grow as automated content becomes more common, together supporting a broad and continually replenishing base of legitimate registrants over time.

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
