§ 1 — Sens de la chaîne Q118·Q120

BCA is an acronym for Bank Central Asia

/ˌbiː.siː.ˈeɪ/

§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133

The primary mission of the .bca gTLD is to create a secure, trusted, and identifiable online environment that directly supports and enhances BCA's core business objectives, digital strategy, and commitment to its customers.

The specific purposes for establishing and operating the .bca gTLD include: 1. Enhanced Brand Identity and Recognition In an increasingly crowded and noisy digital world, brand differentiation is paramount and an ongoing challenge. The .bca gTLD provides a permanent, unambiguous identifier that cuts through the clutter. As new digital platforms emerge and the internet evolves, having a dedicated, branded namespace ensures BCA's identity remains clear, consistent, and instantly recognizable, regardless of the specific technology or interface. It's a foundational element of their digital brand architecture.

2. Increased Security and Trust Cybercrime, phishing, and online fraud are not going away; they are constantly evolving and becoming more sophisticated. The .bca gTLD offers a structural and enduring defense against these threats. By operating a closed gTLD, BCA creates a trusted zone where customers can be confident they are interacting with the genuine bank. This inherent security model remains relevant and effective even as specific attack vectors change, providing a continuous layer of trust that generic TLDs cannot match. Trust, once established, needs constant reinforcement, and .bca serves as a continuous beacon of authenticity.

3. Streamlined Customer Experience and Communication Customer expectations for intuitive, easy-to-navigate, and personalized digital experiences only increase over time. As BCA expands its services, introduces new digital products, or adapts to new user interfaces (e.g., voice assistants, metaverse applications), the .bca namespace provides a logical, scalable, and branded framework to organize and present these offerings. It prevents fragmentation and ensures a consistent, positive user journey, which is a continuous goal for any customer-centric organization.

4. To provide BCA with full control over its digital naming strategy The digital economy is characterized by rapid change and continuous innovation. The .bca gTLD provides BCA with complete strategic control and agility over its online presence. This means they can quickly adapt to new technologies, launch new services, or pivot their digital strategy without being constrained by the policies, availability, or costs associated with third-party domain registrars or generic TLDs. It's a future-proof platform for digital experimentation and expansion, ensuring BCA can remain competitive and relevant in the long term.

5. Protection of Intellectual Property Protecting a brand's intellectual property is an ongoing, never-ending task. As long as the internet exists, there will be attempts at cybersquatting, trademark infringement, and brand dilution. The .bca gTLD acts as a permanent, proactive deterrent and a clear demarcation of official presence. It significantly reduces the ongoing effort and cost associated with monitoring and enforcing trademark rights across generic TLDs, by creating a definitive "safe zone" for the brand.

Déclaration Spec 11 §3(d) Q184

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) intends to operate the .bca Top-Level Domain (TLD) as a closed registry strictly for BCA internal business operations, affiliates, and authorized stakeholders. This operational model does not conflict with Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base gTLD Registry Agreement due to the following reasons:

1. Non-Generic Nature of the String The string .bca is not a generic term. It is a highly distinctive, recognized acronym and registered trademark belonging exclusively to BCA banking and financial services.

2. Intent to Qualify as a .Brand TLD BCA intends to apply for and meet all requirements of Specification 13 (Brand TLD Provisions). As a designated .Brand TLD, the registry is legally permitted to restrict domain registrations exclusively to the Registry Operator and its Affiliates/Trademark Licensees.

3. Prevention of Public Confusion Operating .bca as a closed registry ensures a secure, trusted, and controlled ecosystem. It prevents malicious third parties from registering domains under our brand name, thereby protecting consumers and upholding the integrity of the TLD.

In conclusion, because .bca is a proprietary brand identifier and not a generic class or dictionary term, its operation as a closed registry perfectly aligns with ICANN’s policies and entirely avoids any conflict with Section 3(d) of Specification 11.

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
