Fiche ICANN ↗

§ 1 — Sens de la chaîne Q118·Q120

"Bolt" is the brand name for Bolt Technology OÜ, the international mobility platform with ride-hailing, scooter and e-bike rentals, car-sharing, and food delivery services.

bəʊlt

§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133

Bolt is a European shared mobility platform founded in 2013. Bolt has operations in over 50 countries and 850 cities globally and provides shared mobility services, including ride-hailing, scooter and e-bike rental and car rental to over 200 million customers. The company seeks to accelerate the transition from privately owned cars to shared mobility, offering better alternatives for every use case.

The mission of the .bolt TLD is to provide a secure, trusted, and exclusive online namespace for Bolt. The .bolt TLD will be used for websites, applications, communications, and other digital services operated by Bolt. Users of these services may include Bolt customers, drivers, couriers, merchants, partners, employees, and members of the public.

Bolt Technology OÜ intends to operate the .bolt TLD as a dotBrand TLD where all domain registrations will be restricted to organizations within our corporate group (Affiliates) and, potentially, to licensees of our trademarks. We will implement a strict registration approval process to ensure registrations are limited to these types of registrants that will include:

- an internal request and approval process for any part of the business that wishes to use a domain name within our TLD; - creation of pre-defined registration policies setting out who can register a domain within our TLD; - use of a trusted corporate registrar for the creation of all domain names. The registrar will only accept requests from authorized individuals within our organization.

Bolt Technology OÜ will also control the DNS records associated with all domain names at any level in the .bolt TLD.

All domains will be exclusively for achieving our corporate objectives. Operation of the TLD in this restricted manner will easily be sustainable in the long term through the above-mentioned controls which will support Bolt’s long-term brand protection, digital identity, security, and business operations. As Bolt expands its services and online presence, the .bolt namespace will provide a scalable and controlled platform for future growth.

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
