ECHO Domain Co L.L.C., US Q1·Q25

Contrôle ultime déclaré : Charles William Ergen, EchoStar Corporation Q108 · Fiche ICANN ↗

Opérateur de registre, bureau d'enregistrement ou affilié existant, tel que déclaré : Q12

ECHO Domain Co L.L.C. is an Affiliate of three existing ICANN-contracted registry operators through common ownership by EchoStar Corporation, as defined in Base Registry Agreement §2.9:

1. Dish DBS Corporation 2. DISH Technologies L.L.C. 3. Hughes Satellite Systems Corporation

All four entities (ECHO Domain Co L.L.C., Dish DBS Corporation, DISH Technologies L.L.C., and Hughes Satellite Systems Corporation) are wholly owned subsidiaries of EchoStar Corporation.

§ 1 — Sens de la chaîne Q118·Q120

BOOST is a registered trademark of ECHO Domain Co affiliate Boost SubscriberCo L.L.C., operating as Boost Mobile. The term refers to the company's mobile telecommunications services.

/buːst/

§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133

The .boost gTLD will serve as the digital namespace for ECHO Domain Co’s affiliate Boost Mobile, consolidating the brand's online presence under a dedicated, recognizable extension.

Boost Mobile is a national wireless carrier wholly owned by EchoStar Corporation, ECHO Domain Co’s QPE. The .boost TLD will be used for internal pages, customer-facing services, marketing, and similar. All registrations will be restricted to EchoStar Corporation and its subsidiaries.

This purpose is sustainable because Boost Mobile is an established national brand with millions of active subscribers and ongoing operations in the U.S. wireless market.

§ 3 — Engagements et sauvegardes Q164–Q188

Confirme que la chaîne n'est pas une « generic string » Q183Oui
Déclaration Spec 11 §3(d) Q184

In this context the string corresponds directly to the registered trademark "BOOST" as used in "Boost Mobile" -- a long-established nationally recognized wireless brand operated by parent entity EchoStar Corporation.

The string's primary commercial association is with this specific brand. Operating .boost exclusively for EchoStar and its subsidiaries does not deprive the public of access to a term they would otherwise need for domain registrations, as the string functions as a brand identifier that distinguishes the trademark holder's goods and services from those of others. While “boost” is a dictionary verb, it does not denominate or describe a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations, or things within the meaning of Specification 11, Section 3(d).

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
