§ 1 — Sens de la chaîne Q118·Q120
MyChart is a coined term with no dictionary definition in any language. It functions exclusively as a source identifier for Epic Systems.
maɪ tʃɑrt
§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133
Epic Systems Corporation is applying for the .mychart top-level domain as a dotBrand TLD under Specification 13 of the Registry Agreement. The mission of .mychart is to serve as a dedicated, trusted namespace for Epic Systems Corporation and its affiliates, a controlled digital environment that reflects the MyChart brand and supports the full range of Epic’s business activities with respect to MyChart, from internal operations to patient- and customer-facing services.
The intended registrants of .mychart are consistent with Specification 13's requirements. Epic's internal policies will govern the use of .mychart and will remain tightly controlled to protect the integrity and trust associated with the MyChart brand.
Epic intends to deploy .mychart across a range of use cases, including internal corporate infrastructure as well as patient-facing sites and services supporting the MyChart software platform. The .mychart namespace will enable Epic to organize, authenticate, and present its digital presence under a single, recognizable, brand-controlled TLD, enhancing trust and reducing the risk of phishing, impersonation, and namespace confusion that can arise under generic TLDs.
The .mychart TLD is designed to be a long-term strategic asset for Epic. Epic is a well-established company with a stable financial profile and long-standing operations. The ongoing operational costs of maintaining a dotBrand TLD are well within Epic's organizational capacity, and Epic has the technical infrastructure and vendor relationships necessary to support registry operations in compliance with ICANN's requirements.
Because .mychart will function as a closed, single-registrant TLD under Specification 13, it does not depend on third-party registration revenue for sustainability. The TLD's value is derived from its role within Epic's broader business, not from commercial registration activity. Epic views .mychart as a living asset whose specific use cases will develop over time, while remaining anchored to the MyChart brand and subject to Specification 13's requirements throughout the term of the Registry Agreement.

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
