§ 1 — Sens de la chaîne Q118·Q120
A unit of information in a computer.
/bɪt/
§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133
1. Mission and Objectives
.bit represents the smallest unit of digital information. On the Internet, "bit" symbolizes the fundamental building block of the digital world, conveying digital authenticity, precision, and a native presence built from the ground up. The mission of .bit is to provide a foundational namespace for this elemental digital concept, enabling each .bit domain to signal "this is my basic unit of digital identity," and helping individuals, brands, and organizations establish a digital presence that is intrinsically their own, starting from the smallest unit. The goal is to establish .bit as a domain closely associated with digital fundamentals and authenticity, and as a natural choice for those building their online identities at the most essential level.
Intended Registrants: Open to the public.
Intended Users: Any Internet users who wish to access content, services, or identities independently built upon fundamental digital elements by individuals, brands, or organizations.
Relevant Activities: Hong Kong Zhongze International Limited will promote .bit around the theme of "the fundamental unit of your digital world"; and will establish routine abuse monitoring and rapid response mechanisms to safeguard the credibility of the namespace.
2. Long-Term Sustainability
The digital economy is built on bits, and the need for individuals and organizations to establish a fundamental and authentic digital identity continues to grow. As a short, technically resonant domain, .bit is easy to remember and share, applicable across a wide range of digital scenarios, and not dependent on any single industry. The company possesses sound operational capabilities to ensure the long-term stable operation of .bit in compliance with ICANN requirements. Through reasonable pricing, .bit will achieve commercial self-sustainability, establishing itself as a signature domain for digital-native identity and foundational digital presence.
