Mission and Objectives sou is the Chinese Pinyin for “xn--u2u” meaning “search” “find” and “discover.” In the Chinese Internet context, “sou” represents one of the most fundamental and frequently performed online actions from information retrieval and knowledge acquisition to product discovery and service comparison, “sou” is the primary act connecting needs with information. The mission of .sou is to establish a namespace on the global Internet built upon the shared identifier of “sou,” transforming it from a mere functional action into a recognizable, trustworthy, and navigable digital identifier that leads directly to specialized information sources, thereby helping Internet users efficiently and precisely discover the content and services they seek. The goal is to make .sou a widely recognized symbol of search and discovery on the Internet, where every .sou domain serves as a trusted search entry point.

Intended Registrants: Open to the public. Global Chinese-speaking internet users, and all internet users with information search needs.

Intended users: Global Chinese-speaking Internet users and all Internet users with information search needs.

Relevant activities: We will promote awareness of .sou under the theme of “making search more trustworthy.” This includes: collaborating with vertical search tool developers, knowledge platform operators, and content aggregation creators to launch themed activities such as “Search Out Great Content” and “Discover Specialized Search,” building public recognition of .sou as a trusted search entry point by showcasing representative case studies; and simultaneously establishing abuse monitoring mechanisms to promptly address domain misuse, thereby ensuring the healthy operation of the namespace.

2. Long-Term Sustainability Search is one of the most persistent proactive behaviors of Internet users. Regardless of how content formats evolve from web pages to videos, from text and images to intelligent Q&A, the behavioral pattern of users actively searching to obtain information and fulfill needs remains constant. This enduring and universal user habit provides .sou with a stable foundation of demand and diverse application scenarios. The search market itself is developing in an increasingly diversified and specialized direction. Beyond general-purpose search engines, vertical search, knowledge navigation, resource aggregation, and other specialized segments continue to emerge, with more and more organizations and individuals seeking to establish their own dedicated search service entry points. As a namespace specifically for search services, .sou offers an ideal digital identifier for this growing demand. This characteristic of growing in tandem with the search ecosystem enables .sou’s potential registration base to expand continuously. From an operational perspective, the company possesses a sound financial foundation and an experienced domain operations team, capable of ensuring the long-term stable operation of .sou and meeting ICANN’s security, stability, and compliance requirements. As an open generic top-level domain, .sou is available for registration across a wide range of global search and discovery scenarios. Commercial self-sustainability can be achieved through reasonable pricing and organic registration volume growth. Jiangsu Bangning Technology Co., Ltd. will make a long-term commitment to building the .sou brand, establishing it as a dedicated namespace where Internet users explore the world and discover value.
