The purpose of .ops is to give registrants a meaningful domain extension that immediately communicates an operational focus. It can be used for websites, tools, platforms, documentation, communities, services and other online resources related to operating, managing and supporting systems, infrastructure and organizations.
The .ops gTLD is intended to improve online identity, discoverability and choice by creating a dedicated namespace for the broad and evolving field of operations. Its concise and recognizable nature also makes it suitable for innovative uses as operational practices, technologies and services continue to develop.

The applicant intends to operate .ops in a manner that supports security, stability, reliability and responsible use of the DNS, while allowing the namespace to develop in response to legitimate market demand and evolving uses of the term “ops.”
