§ 1 — Sens de la chaîne Q118·Q120
To dine means to eat a meal, especially dinner, and by extension relates to dining, restaurants, eating out, and shared meal occasions.
/daɪn/
§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133
The mission of .DINE is to create a distinctive namespace for restaurants, hospitality businesses, culinary professionals, food communities, and others connected by the experience of dining. As a familiar and action-oriented word, "dine" provides an intuitive digital identity for discovering places to eat, exploring food and hospitality, planning dining experiences, and connecting people with the businesses and communities that serve them.
Intended registrants include restaurants, cafes, food-service businesses, hotels and venues, caterers and private chefs, food trucks and other dining concepts, culinary events and festivals, reservation and ordering platforms, hospitality technology providers, tourism organizations, culinary media, food communities, event organizers, and individuals with a meaningful connection to dining. Intended users include diners, travelers, local residents, guests, event planners, food enthusiasts, and audiences seeking related restaurants, experiences, products, services, events, content, or information.
Natural and legitimate uses include restaurant and hospitality sites; menus and dining information; reservations and ordering; culinary events and festivals; catering and private dining; food and destination guides; culinary media and content; hospitality technology; dining communities; promotions and experiences; personal and creative projects; and other relevant products, services, and experiences. From deciding where to dine to discovering something new at the table, .DINE provides a memorable digital identity that naturally connects the domain name with the user's intent. Oinkadot intends to support the development of the namespace through broad registrar distribution, appropriate positioning of .DINE for its intended markets, and ongoing awareness of its diverse hospitality, culinary, technology, tourism, community, and commercial uses.
The purpose is sustainable because dining is a universal and recurring part of everyday life, hospitality, travel, culture, celebration, and community. Restaurants and technology may change, but people will always gather around the table. The continuing need to discover where to eat, what to experience, and who to share it with gives .DINE an enduring relevance across cultures, communities, and generations. This provides a broad foundation for long-term interest in the .DINE namespace.
