§ 2 — Mission et objet Q133
Mission and Purpose of .BeWell
TLD1 LLC exists to expand the supply of meaningful, memorable, and positive names available to the next generation of internet creators and communicators.
We believe individuals, businesses, organizations, and communities should be able to maintain an independent place on the Internet. Social networks, marketplaces, search engines, and AI platforms can help people reach audiences, but those platforms control their own rules and systems. A domain name gives a communicator an address they can control and use to direct interested users, prospects, customers, members, and communities to a place of their own choosing.
.BeWell is intended to provide a positive and memorable namespace built around a simple and widely understood expression of goodwill.
“Be well” is a common English phrase used to express a wish for another person's health, happiness, welfare, or general well-being. It can mean “we wish you well,” “take care,” or simply an encouragement to live well. The purpose of .BeWell is to give individuals, businesses, organizations, creators, and communities a meaningful online identity connected with that positive idea.
We intend .BeWell to operate as an open, general-purpose TLD. It is not limited to healthcare, medical services, licensed professionals, or any other regulated field. The phrase has a much broader meaning and may be useful for fitness, lifestyle, personal development, family, community, travel, food, recreation, education, nonprofit activity, personal websites, products, services, and many other lawful purposes.
.BeWell can also serve people and organizations whose purpose is simply to encourage, inform, support, or improve the lives of others. Its meaning is positive without prescribing how a registrant must use it.
We believe the purpose of .BeWell is sustainable over time because the ideas represented by the phrase are enduring. People will continue to care about health, happiness, quality of life, personal improvement, community, and goodwill even as technologies and methods of online communication change.
TLD1 LLC is committed to operating .BeWell responsibly, with transparent pricing, broad registrar distribution, and active DNS abuse prevention through our contracted, ICANN-evaluated registry service providers.

Q121As per Section 3(d) of Specification 11 of the Base Registry Agreement, a registry operator of a “generic string” may not impose eligibility criteria for registering names in the TLD that limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity and/or that person’s or entity’s “Affiliates” (as defined in Section 2.9(c) of the Registry Agreement). “Generic String” means a string consisting of a word or term that denominates or describes a general class of goods, services, groups, organizations or things, as opposed to distinguishing a specific brand of goods, services, groups, organizations or things from those of others. Confirm that the applied-for string is not a “generic string” in which the applying entity intends to limit registrations exclusively to a single person or entity.
